make it stop

friends,
i am at my wits end.
it kills me to watch/read/listen to anything.
my bone marrow is hurting.
stop the war in iraq.
stop the talk about invading iran -- the evidence is old and questionable.
shout it out loud.
make it stop.
make it stop.
make it stop.
demand answers.
demand answers.
demand answers.
and for god's sake,
gotohellifyouhatefreedom,

Here's some happy news I just read in the paper:

They've developed a laptop that will only cost $100. It's designed for governments to buy in bulk and distribute to kids in underdeveloped countries for free to improve education and communication. It's super-durable, doesn't need a plug (you crank it up, pump a foot pedal, or pull a rip cord to give it power), it's capable of communicating wirelessly with others in range without a wifi point (but it can of course do wifi as well), it has instant messaging software and all the necessary programs to do normal school and day to day stuff which is all downloadable free from the intraweb, it uses flash memory and usb ports so it can't crash, and about a million other cool things.

For some reason, reading about that made me so excited, happy and in awe of what we can do with technology to connect people and help them gain more in the way of knowledge and worldliness. Luckily, not everyone is in things like this for profit. Plus it's on board with the whole sustainable energy thing, which is awesome.

Check out the website, maybe it will make you grin too:
